Harrison County students taking part in the Graceland University TRIO Talent Search Program are pictured in front of the giant NASA monument at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. They are, from left to right, Paige Menneke and Carci Coffey from South Harrison and Eli Booher and Jacob Harding of Ridgeway. The event was made possible by a special STEM grant awarded to TRIO before the pandemic. The students attended science camp and Graceland in 2020 and at the culmination of the camp, the students earned the opportunity to visit the Kennedy Space Center. Some 15 students from six school districts participated in the camp and enjoyed the trip to Florida. While at the space center, the students participated in hands-on activities related to a STEM career. They returned home last week.
