Bethany, MO: Harrison County is celebrating veterans. There will be many events and ceremonies happening in the area Thursday, Friday and Monday. The following is a list of the place and times for all.
South Harrison is breaking from tradition this year and welcoming The Buchanan Pipe and Drums will be performing two WWI era pieces. The assembly will be led by students, with high school, middle school and elementary students performing musically and speaking throughout. The assembly begins at 9 a.m. FCCLA will have brownies and punch for veterans afterwards.
North Harrison’s ceremony will be Monday, Nov. 12, at 9 a.m.; their speaker will be Master Sergeant Jodi Bowels.
Cainsville will hold their ceremony Friday, Nov. 9, at 8:30 a.m. Their speaker will be Jake Taylor.
Gilman City’s ceremony will be Thursday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m. with Bruce Williams as their speaker.
Ridgeway will hold their Veteran’s Day ceremony Monday, Nov. 12 10-11 a.m. Their speaker will be Cainsville Superintendent Richard Smith
The American Legion and V.F.W is having a chili super for veterans Friday, Nov. 9 at the American Legion 5:30 – 8 p.m.
There will be a program for veterans at Walmart Monday, Nov. 12, at 2 p.m.
Hy-Vee is having a Veterans Day breakfast Monday, Nov. 12, 6-9 a.m. coffee and juice and biscuits and gravy will be served free for veterans.
