Veta Rose Gilpatrick, 75, passed away May 29, 2015 at Kansas University Hospital, Kansas City, KS.
Veta was born November 21, 1939 near Bethany, MO, the daughter of Wilbur and Dorothy (Stitt) Groves.
She married Richard Gilpatrick on February 14, 1956 at the home of Rev. O.D. Hedges in Martinsville, MO. To this union three sons were born, Jerry, Rolan, and Kevin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Jerry Gilpatrick.
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, Eagleville Christian Church, and the Christian Women’s Fellowship of the church.
Veta retired from North Harrison High School after 38 years of service as a Cook and Supervisor. She had also worked several years as an attendant for Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, MO.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Richard, of the home; 2 sons, Rolan Gilpatrick and Kevin (Penny) Gilpatrick; daughter-in-law, Linda Gilpatrick; sister, Verla (Richard, Jr.) Fine; brother, Kenneth (Margaret) Groves; 8 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Veta’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4, at the Eagleville Christian Church, Eagleville, MO, with Pastor Jason Laxton officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Blythedale, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday at the Church. Friends may call from Noon to 4:30 Wednesday at the Roberson Funeral Home, Eagleville, MO.
