The beat goes on for Heart Month: Harrison County Community Hospital has a bright addition to its roof in celebration of American Heart Month and Valentine’s Day. American Heart Month aims to raise awareness about heart-healthy lifestyle changes such as diet, exercise and smoking cessation that can help prevent cardiovascular disease.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the United States, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The heart will illuminate the night sky throughout the month of February. This is the third year the heart has been displayed, said Tim Hill, the hospital’s marketing director.
