It’s that time of year again for Scare on the Square, made possible by the Bethany Area Chamber of Commerce.
The fun will begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, on the square in Bethany.
Local businesses and organizations will be sponsoring booths on the Square offering treats for the children. The City Hall will have a haunted house during the event.
Pumpkin race registration will be at 4:30 p.m. with races following the costume contest. Official rules for the race can be found at facebook.com/bethanymochamber.
Judging of the costume contest will take place at 5 p.m. on the courthouse steps. Prizes, including bicycles, will be awarded to the winners.
Prizes will be awarded to boys and girls in age categories from under 2 years old to 10 years old.
The Republican-Clipper will be holding a coloring contest in cooperation with the Bethany Public Library.
Food and beverages will be available on the Square.

Other Halloween celebrations will be held at Bethany’s nursing homes. The Crestview Home will be hosting trick-or-treaters from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. and the Bethany Care Center from 4 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 31.
