The little ghosts and goblins will be turning out again on Thursday evening, Oct. 31, for Square on the Square in Bethany. And, at New Hampton, the Haunted Bank will be underway at the Haunted Hamptons event.
Parents should be ready to dress their children in warm clothing because snow and cold weather is forecast.
Hundreds of children have attended the Bethany Chamber of Commerce’s Scare on the Square. Children will parade around downtown Bethany picking up Halloween treats from participating businesses between 4 and 6 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded in the costume contest at 4:30 p.m. The Bethany Public Library will be judging the coloring contest with prizes presented by the Republican-Clipper.
Registration for the pumpkin rate will begin at 4:30 p.m.
New Hampton’s Haunted Bank will be open on Thursday night and again on Nov. 2. Some 160 persons attended the grand opening on Saturday night, according to New Hampton correspondent Melanie Rowley.
