Alan Roberson, who owns the Bethany-based funeral homes with his wife Wyvonne, said Greenlee-Middleton like Roberson Funeral Homes has been in the same family for many years.

“They are a three-generation funeral home,” Alan Roberson said.

Michael Greenlee, in announcing the new ownership, said he is pleased that the Robersons will be assuming ownership of Greenlee-Middleton.

“Alan and Wyvonne have always been our preference as successors to serve our families we have served for many years,” Greenlee said.

“Over the years we have had a great working relationship with Alan Roberson and his staff. He operates his funeral homes in the same manner as we do, with the focus on serving with great respect and love,” he said.

Middleton said he and his wife Christine will be moving out of the area, but Philip and Shiloa Middleton will continue living in Princeton and will be assisting the Roberson staff.

Greenlee-Middleton was first established in 1903 in Lineville, Iowa, by Otis Oscar “Ottie” Greenlee. The Greenlees later opened a funeral home in Princeton.

Harvey Samuel Roberson opened the family’s first funeral home in 1925 in Jamesport, Missouri. He was succeeded by his son O. L. Robberson and later by H. A. Roberson, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. H. A. was joined by his wife Suzanne in the ownership of the funeral homes for several years.

Alan and Wyvonne later purchased the funeral homes. The Robersons said they are pleased to add Princeton and Lineville to the areas they serve.
