Returns from Tuesday’s election

With social distancing measures and  health precautions in place, Harrison County residents turned out in small numbers to vote in the municipal election on Tuesday. Some returns from contested elections:

Terry “Butch” Osmon defeated incumbent Eastward Alderman Charles Crabtree by 148 votes to 48 to win a term on the Board of Aldermen.

In the five-person race for three positions on the North Harrison school board, the winners were Matt Graham with 120 votes, John Lueken with 118 and Kam Parkhurst with 92. Votes for the other candidates were Joe Washburn with 89 and Tara Milligan with 72.

Harrison County’s gravel tax renewal was approved by a vote of 804 yes to 114 no.

In the Ridgeway school board election, Amber McFall with 70 votes, Matt Whitaker with 69 and Tanya Merritt with 58 were elected to three positions on the board. Marcia Booth received 54  votes.

Lorrie Langfitt defeated Brent Griffith 45-12 as New Hampton mayor. Aaron Langfitt, with 45 votes and Kerry Lewis with 35 votes, were elected to two at-large positions on the New Hampton board of aldermen. Donar Jordan received 21 votes.

Jack Prindle defeated Peter Anderson 13-9 as alderman at Gilman City.
