New Hampton, MO: New Hampton’s time capsule buried 50 years ago during the town’s 1968 centennial will keep its secrets for a little while longer after workers were unable to break into the concrete and steel chamber on Saturday during the sesquicentennial celebration.
What’s inside?: Volunteers struggled for about an hour trying to break into New Hampton’s centennial time capsule but had to give up when they couldn’t open the vault. A second attempt will be made to open the capsule at a later date.
