Meet the candidates of the April 8th election

Dan Robertson described himself as “a regular guy from Bethany.” He grew up in the town but lived most of his life in K.C. Dan moved back to Bethany about 8 years ago and spends the day watching his grandkids. He is unopposed in the election.
Lance Johns was born in Bethany where he raised his four boys along side his wife. For the last 19 years he ran Southside Auto (MFA), a business that he owns and operates. Lance has served three terms on city council and is the current mayor.
Larry Simpson and Barbara (Bennett) Simpson have been married for 20 years. He proudly served in the US army for 15-years and have assumed a leadership role in the local American Legion.
He and his wife have chosen Bethany as their retirement destination being drawn by small-town life and good people.
Randy Mann married Elshana and raised 4 children and 4 grandchildren together. He had a photography studio in Bethany named Mann Made Images. After that he was employed with GRM Networks, where he spent the next 21 years in the Internet department, retiring from there in June of 2021
Terry “Butch” Osmon was employed by the City of Bethany as a police officer for 16 years. He served 27 years in the local reserves unit and is a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He also served in Haiti during Operation Uphold Democracy. He is a member of the American Legion, the VFW, and the Methodist Church.

Bethany, MO: During the April 8th election, Mayor Lance Johns will run opposed by Terry “Butch” Osmon, while westward Alderman Randy Mann will be opposed by newcomer Larry Simpson. Dan Robertson is running unopposed for eastward. Before the citizens of Bethany travel to the polls and vote, the Republican Clipper asked the candidates to discuss various community issues.
