The resignations of City Administrator Jan Hagler and City Attorney Cristine Stallings comes at an inopportune time for the city of Bethany as it prepares to begin an ambitious street program and gets ready to award bids for the new wastewater treatment plant.
The two officials resigned at a contentious council meeting on May 16 when Mayor Joe Johnson and the council sparred over replacing Jacob Denum as fire chief.
