Dr. Chad Lambert receives the first dose of Moderna vaccine last Monday, Dec. 29, when the Harrison County Community Hospital began vaccinating medical personnel and emergency medical services against COVID-19. Anita Mitchell administered the shots. HCCH requested 100 doses of the Moderna vaccine. This is a two-dose vaccine that will be given at least 28 days apart. CDC officials say the vaccine does not use the live virus that causes COVID and cannot cause the disease. No timeline has been given so far when the general public will begin to receive the vaccine.
