
Historical research: Writer Ted Geltner displays the Republican-Clipper’s front page story about a fatal accident on Highway 69 that became the basis for a short story written by noted novelist Denis Johnson. A Bethany resident, William Webb, was killed in the accident.
Bethany, MO: Ted Geltner’s pursuit of a story about acclaimed author Denis Johnson brought him to Bethany last summer when Geltner visited the location of a fatal accident which became the setting for one of Johnson’s most famed short stories, “Car Crash While Hitchhiking.”
