Bethany, MO: Students from the surrounding areas gathered together in the South Harrison middle school gymnasium on Wednesday, Feb. 8, to take part in the Harrison County Spelling Bee.
A total of 54 students, ranging from 5th to 8th grade, attended the county spelling bee. The winner of the spelling bee this year was Gilman City 8th grader Tony Jennings in the 12th round of the competition after spelling the word, installation. The competition concluded in the 12th round with a word count of 161. In second place was Kylie Taylor, an 8th grader from Ridgeway. South Harrison 8th grader Cooper Jones took 3rd place, and South Harrison 7th grader Jaxon Ury took 4th place.
