Bethany fire recruit Noah Lamberson swings a sledgehammer during a test Saturday morning at the fire station. Firemen go through a trial to judge their ability to break down doors, carry fire hoses and rescue fire victims in a seven-minute timed event. Lamberson and fellow recruit Johnathon Stevenson passed their initial tests and must pass a physical before joining the department. Lamberson is the grandson of Richard Russell who has been on the department for 36 years.
