Firemen from several area departments were at the scene of a large fire at the Alan Guernsey home on Highway 136, east of Bethany. The fire spread from the attic into the roof of the home at about 4:30 p.m. Monday evening. The Bethany Fire Department requested mutual aid from other Harrison County fire departments, as well as Pattonsburg, in helping to put out the structure fire. No one was believed injured in the fire.
