Cainsville, MO: Donald Howard Wilburn, 76, Cainsville, MO (formerly of Mendon, MO) passed away at his home under the care of hospice on Thursday, June 25, 2020.

     He was born on March 2, 1944 in Chillicothe, Missouri to his parents, Howard Lee and Betty (Cooper) Wilburn. They preceded him in death at a young age and he went to live with his paternal grandparents, Frank and Gladys Wilburn, who also preceded him death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Wilburn, Ronnie Walton, Billy Wilburn; sisters, Joann and Patricia and brothers-in-law, Ronnie Sharp and Dean Hollon; mother-in-law, Anona Smith; step-mother, Hellen Willburn and step-father, Jack Lewis.

     He was united in marriage to Marlene Williams on June 5, 1964. She survives him of the home. They were married 56 years.

     Don is survived by his son, Donnie Lee Wilburn; daughter, Julie Cruickshank and son-in-law, Butch Drew; three grandsons, Brett, Cruickshank, Kyle Cruickshank, and Conner Drew; great grandsons, Jace King and Aiden North; sisters, Dixie Sharp, Diane Hamilton, Kathy St. Clair, Gladys Dixon, Connie Keller and Debbie Perry; brothers, Bobby Wilburn, Jackie Lewis, Tim Lewis, Terry Lewis and Gary Lewis; numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and several nieces and nephews.

     Don and Marlene owned and operated Mendon Meat and Grocery for 25 years. After selling their business they decided to get fun jobs so they became casino poker dealers. They traveled and dealt poker in Las Vegas, NV, President Riverboat in Davenport, IA, and Native American Casino in Tama, IA.

     He was a baker, candy maker, all around cook, and he loved to make candy and cookies and share them with neighbors, co-workers, mail men and trash collectors. He loved to read books from the library. He loved his family, they always came first. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren.

     Don has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.      The family will hold a Celebration of Life in Mendon, MO and Inurnment at a later date.  Online condolences may be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com
