Bethany, MO: Mayor Lance Johns, pictured 6th from left held a dinner for the local police officers in town. The mayor has wished to honor the police in some way, noting that the peace officers have no appreciation night of any kind. Johns put together a last minute supper funding the event himself and serving smoked ribs, hamburgers and hotdogs. The event happened so fast the city council board members were left out. Leading to a lot of playful ribbing at the mayor’s expense for the oversight during the last town meeting.
