
Eagleville, MO: An Eagleville couple is being held in Harrison County Jail on child neglect charges following the investigation of the death of a child on July 31, according to the Harrison County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a release from the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to 14002 Locust Street in Eagleville to assist EMS with an unresponsive child. The child was ultimately airlifted to Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City where she was pronounced dead.
The Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into the incident and found that the death was not accidental.
The child’s mother, Heather N. Young, 25, and her paramour Andrew D. Harrell, 29, were arrested in connection with the death. Young is charged with abuse or neglect of a child resulting in death. Harrell is charged with abuse or neglect of child and hindering prosecution.
Young is being held on $500,000 cash bond while Harrell’s bond was set for $250,000, cash only. They are scheduled to appear at a bond hearing on Aug. 10 in the Associate Division of Harrison County Circuit Court.
