Harrison County’s five school districts will hold commencement exercises this weekend for a total of 95 graduates.
Gilman City will get the weekend going with the graduation of its 10-member class at 7 p.m. on Friday night, May 13. The graduations will continued through Sunday with the South Harrison, Ridgeway and North Harrison commencements.
Alisha Kelim of Mandan, North Dakota, a former Bethany teacher will address South Harrison’s 55-member class at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
Mrs. Kelim graduated from South Harrison High School in 1998. She later received a B.S. in communications with a public relations emphasis from Missouri Western State University. She received a master’s in curriculum and instruction from William Woods University.
She taught at Ridgeway for two years and then returned to her alma mater to teach communications arts and English from 2007-12. She taught for one year in Glasgow, Mont., before she and her husband David moved to North Dakota.
South Harrison’s baccalaureate will be tonight (Wednesday) in the school gymnasium.
Other graduations this weekend:
North Harrison—Sandy Willis, a former teacher, will be the speaker at the commencement at 2 p.m. on Sunday in Eagleville. North Harrison has 17 graduates.
Cainsville—The school will hold its 126th commencement at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 14. The speaker for the six-member class will be Sheila Harding, an English teacher at Cainsville.
Ridgeway—Rebecca Burkhead, a former teacher at the school, will address the seven graduates at 6 p.m. on Sunday night.
Gilman City—Former teacher Jacob Wilson will be the speaker at commencement exercises at 7 p.m. on Friday night, May 13. Gilman City has a 10-member class.
