New school ceremony: South Harrison Middle School Principal Shane Jones breaks the ground for the new junior high facility on Thursday, the day after classes were dismissed for the summer. Lawhon Construction Company of St. Joseph will begin site preparation work in early June. Watching Jones turn up the soil are board members Dr. Caleb Guernsey, Mark Plymell, C.F. Rainey, Dr. Jack McCall, Nick Fitzgerald and Chad Smith.
Dozens of South Harrison faculty members attending their end-of-school meeting at the high school watched Thursday morning as ground was broken for the new South Harrison Middle School.
