Close call: A large tree rests in the front yard of this home on South 17th Street during heavy winds accompanying a cold front that hit early in the week. The main portion of the tree missed the residence but limbs caused some damage to the roof. The storm brought only a skiff of snow but the windchill fell to the single digits. The cold wave is expected to last into the weekend.
