Representatives of the Missouri Department of Conservation present a $153,537.42 check to the city of Bethany for the cooperative lake improvement program at the New Lake and the Old Lake. The ceremony took place on the new fishing dock at the New Lake. Laura Rumen of MDC, left, presented the check to Mayor Jonne Slemons. Others taking part in the ceremony were, from the left, council members Randy Brejnik and Charlie Crabtree, conservation agent Josh Roller and Jerry Wichman of MDC. The money was used to construct parking lots, boating docks, fishing facilities and new rest rooms at both lakes.
