A 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo heading westbound on County Road 310 slid off of the road Sunday morning near the Big Creek bridge, west of Bethany. The driver, Stephanie Ruch, 17, of New Hampton, lost control of the vehicle while negotiating a curve and overcorrected, resulting in the car skidding off of the north side of the road. The vehicle came to rest on its top in a cornfield owned by Darrell Darby.
