Bulldogs meet a pioneer: South Harrison’s current team of high achieving wrestlers had an opportunity to meet a Bulldog wrestler from 48 seasons ago. Roger Flint, center, received a plaque recognizing him as the first South Harrison wrestler to compete on the state level. Jack Walker, who holds a banner describing Flint’s accomplishment, organized the recognition last week at the high school. Flint wrestled in the heavyweight division and was able to advance to state in 1968. He is surrounded by members of the South Harrison team and Coach Jake Rumpf. Each Bulldog wrestler shook Roger’s hand at the end of the ceremony. Following in Flint’s footsteps, two members of the Bulldog team, Austin Ward and Kasey McFall, are defending state champions at their weight categories.
