Bethany, MO: A construction crew pours the deck of the West Bethany bridge over Big Creek as work gears up for the completion of the bridge in the spring. The concrete bridge replaces the old span that had been used since the early part of the past century. MoDOT closed the old bridge after an inspection found several structural problems. The Missouri Department of Transportation will pay for 80% of the more than $1 million cost of the bridge, while Harrison County, the city of Bethany and Bethany Township will pay for the rest of the bridge. The Boone Construction Company of Columbia, Mo., is the bridge contractor.–Republican-Clipper photo
