Fourth of July queen: Bethany Chamber of Commerce President Cassi Easton-Deskins hands her grandmother Muriel Broce a mixed bouquet of flowers and fireworks after she was crowned queen of the Bill and Elizabeth Hogan Fourth of July parade on Thursday. Muriel won the queen title by a landslide vote over perennial candidate “Ownie Cleecher.” Muriel served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.
