Bethany, MO: Bethany officials held a four-hour closed meeting Thursday night with representatives of the Missouri State Auditor’s Office to receive an audit of the city’s operations.
The audit took nearly a year to complete. Two members of the auditor’s staff were present to deliver the audit to city officials. The findings of the audit will not be released to the public until the city has had a chance to prepare a response to the findings.
City Administrator Jonne Slemons said the audit will be presented to the public at a meeting within the next few weeks.
The audit was requested by a petition submitted by local residents.
Among those attending the meeting with the auditors were Slemons, City Attorney Tara Walker, Assistant City Administrator Jake Taylor, Mayor Todd Williams, all members of the City Council, City Clerk Nita Schroff and Treasurer Amber Hoyle.
