Dr. Melinda Coleman, a former Albany veterinarian whose daughter Daisy was the subject of a Netflix series as a victim of sexual molestation by Maryville schoolmates, has taken her life four months after Daisy also died by suicide, according to the Kansas City Star.
Dr. Coleman had suffered personal tragedies in recent years. Her husband, Dr. Michael Wayne Coleman, died in a car accident in 2007. Her 19-year-old son Tristan died in a car accident in June of 2018 after helping his sister Daisy move to Colorado. Daisy was the subject of a Netflix documentary “Audrie & Daisy” about teenage sexual assault, bullying and teen suicide before her death.
Melinda Coleman’s death was reported on social media by the SafeBAE organization, which was founded by Daisy working to end sexual assault among middle and high school students.
