Bethany, MO: Carol Gerster of California delivered a platform rocker that was previously purchased from a furniture store or manufactured in Cainsville, Mo., in 1870.
Carol is a descendent of Mervin Hoadley who was a mail carrier in Cainisville from 1904-1935. The chair was recovered in pieces by Carol’s grandmother in a barn loft and put back together. The chair was passed down by Carol’s great grandfather.
The Cainsville Museum Committee was delighted with the donation and the rocker will be on display in the museum sometime in the future.–Submitted photo
