Sanitation has come a long way: The groundbreaking ceremony for Bethany’s new wastewater treatment plant reminds the community about the changes that have been made in the treatment of sewage over the past 60 years ago. Bethany water supervisor George Hulet displays a picture of the old Bethany treatment plant that was used back in the 1950s and 1960s before the construction of the present plant. A picture of the plant is displayed in a building on the grounds of the present plant. The new facility will be completed in May of 2018. The old photo that Hulet is holding was blown up for illustration purposes.
