Jonne Slemons, Bethany’s
former city administrator, was
elected in Tuesday’s municipal
election, defeating former Mayor
Joe Johnson by a vote of 354
to 120.
Slemons had experience in
Alaska state government before
moving to Bethany with her husband
Caleb four years ago.
She will succeed Todd Williams
who attended his last regular
City Council meeting the
night before the election.
Eastward Council Lance
Johns, who was unopposed, was
re-elected to the council with
244 votes. Westward Alderman
Randy Mann was also returned
to the council with 168 votes.
C. F. Rainey and Terry Daniel
were re-elected to the South
Harrison school board over Jeremy
VanMeter. Rainey received
479 votes, Daniel 468 and Van-
Meter 280.
At North Harrison, William
Briggs, with 84 votes, and Kris
Hamilton, with 68, were elected
to the school board, while Kamella
Parkhurst had 43 votes.
Village of Eagleville voters
approved a $1.8 million revenue
bond issue to extend and
improve the sewer system. The
vote was 32 in favor to 7 against.
Seth Lane, 32 votes, and
Cheryl Mossburg-Porter, 24
votes, were elected to the Eagleville
board over Larry Emig
who had 13 votes.
Jeffrey Wilson received 22
votes and Linda Robertson 21
votes over Ronald D. Peter with
7 votes in the race for two positions
on the Gilman City board.
Clay Rinehart, 22 votes, and
Scott Boswell, 19, were unopposed
for two-year terms on the
Ridgeway Board of Alderman.
Stephanie Andrew, 22 votes,
was unopposed for a one-year
term.
Michelle Edwards, 10 votes,
was uncontested for a seat on
the Blythedale Board of Trustees.
Joshua Doll, 9 votes, and
Nadine Peugh, 7, were unopposed
for two positions on the
Mt. Moriah Board of Trustees.
Chris McBroom, 67 votes, was
unopposed for the Public Water
Supply District No. 1 board.
