Lions All-Star games set for Saturday.

Standout high school athletes from across northwest Missouri will play basketball on Saturday, June 6 as part of the annual Lions All-Star Basketball Classic. Eight games will feature nearly 90 high school standouts from the 2014-2015 season with all games to be played at the Ketcham Community Center on the campus of North Central Missouri College in Trenton.

 

Girls’ teams representing the purple and gold squads will tip-off the day with a 9:00 a.m. start followed by the boys’ purple and gold teams meeting at 10:30 a.m. The Girls’ White and Black teams will then battle at noon, followed by a 1:30 p.m. tip off between the Boy’s White and Black teams.

 

At 3:00 p.m., the girls’ consolation game will be played between the losing teams from the morning’s play to be followed by the boys’ consolation game at 4:30 p.m. At 6:00 and 7:30 p.m., the winners of the girls’ and boys’ games from earlier play will meet in the championship matches respectively.

 

Harrison County players selected to play are: Purple boys’ team, Reed Hallock, North Harrison; white team, Darin Williams, South Harrison; assistant coach, white team, Kale Watson of South Harrison; girls’ black team, Aaron Long, North Harrison, head coach; black team, Morgan Reed and Mikayla Toombs of Gilman City.

 

The cost of admission for a full day of basketball is $6 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and under.

All proceeds will support the programs of Lions District 26-M4 with an emphasis on scholarships. Neither Ketcham Community Center passes nor MSTA passes will be accepted for admissions at the games.
