Dick Graner was chosen to return in his role of Bethany mayor during a special meeting Tuesday night at City Hall.
Mayor Pro-Tem Steve Miles and Eastward Councilman Todd Williams had both submitted Graner’s name to fill the vacancy resulting from Joe Johnson’s resignation. Graner had agreed to take the position until the April election when a new mayor would be chosen. “I thought it was commendable that he was willing to step forward in our time of need,” said Miles.
Miles, Todd Williams and Gene Ishmael voted for Graner, while Randy Brejnik voted no.
