Newly elected Harrison County officials took their oaths of office right at the start of 2023. Alex Van Zandt succeeded Johnathan Meyer who had been county prosecutor since August 1, 2018. Lee Ann Miles was also sworn in at the start of the year as the successor to Gretta Bottcher who has been county clerk since Jan. 1, 2018.
Lester Scheuneman, Ridgeway High alumni, brought home hundreds of animal trophies he has collected throughout a lifetime of archery hunting across North America. Scheuneman, now retired from hunting, brought his collection of deer, antelope, caribou, wolves, black bears, and more to be displayed at Harding Gamebirds south of Ridgeway.
