Winds cause property damage: High winds ripped up an airplane hangar at the Roy Broyles Memorial Airport on Wednesday morning but spared an airplane owned by the local flying club. The storm hit Bethany at about 6 a.m. and damaged trees. The winds lifted a pair of carports over the Country Bargain Store, about five miles north of Bethany, and deposited them in an adjoining farm field. There were also tornado sightings Tuesday night near Lake Viking and Winston, according to TV reports.
