North Harrison Superintendent Dr. Ethan Sickels, left, presents a certificate to board member Joe Bond after he completed school board training sections sponsored by the Missouri Association of Rural Education. Bond was elected to the North Harrison School Board in the spring of 2023 and will serve through April of 2026. All newly elected or appointed school board members must complete 18.5 hours of orientation and training within one year of their election. Specific topics include board member responsibilities, effective service, public school laws of Missouri, open meetings and records law, school policies, finance, student assessments, student and staff safety and emergency preparedness and district long range planning.
