Doris Louise (Vance) Mitchell was born September 6, 1928 in Kirksville, MO to Clyde and Ethel Vance and passed away Monday, March 14, 2016.
On August 9, 1947 she married Dale Mitchell in Kirksville, MO., they have six children.
Doris was a homemaker and child care provider for 30 years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Bethany, MO. She loved the Lord with all her heart, mind and soul and loved people. She had a special love of missions and spreading God’s word, serving many years as WMU Director, GA leader, S.S. teacher, VBS and nursery worker. She was involved in many clubs and organizations in the community.
Survivors include her husband: Dale; her children: Dalene (Richard) Madison, Germantown, TN, David (Barbara) Mitchell, Kansas City, MO, Dennis (Rhonda) Mitchell, Ridgeway, MO, Doris Jane (Kenneth) Middleton, Olive Branch, MS, Debbie Herring, Collierville, TN, Darcy (Jerry) Willis, Belton, MO. 16 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. One sister: Lois Vance Stutsman, St. Louis, MO.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Ethel Vance and an infant sister, Jolene Vance.
Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at First Baptist Church, Bethany, MO. Funeral services will be Friday at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Bethany. Memorials may be sent to Gideons International.
