Bonita “Bunny” Rose Smith, 91, of Kansas City, MO (formerly of Bethany, MO) passed away Friday, January 22, 2016 at Bishop Spencer Place, Kansas City, MO.
She was born August 27, 1924 in Bethany, MO the daughter of Ernest Henry and Olive Laura (Spence) Klindt. Bonita graduated in 1942 from Bethany High School.
On October 3, 1946, she married Elgin Harold Smith in Ridgeway, MO. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2000.
They had resided in Kansas City, MO since 1954. Bonita retired from KU Medical Center in June of 1988 after 23 years of service.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Melberne “Jiggs” and Jack Klindt.
Survivors include sons, Jerry (Mary) Smith, Lee’s Summit, MO and Terry (Cherrie) Smith, Kansas City, KS; grandchildren, Chad Smith, Lawrence, KS, Tiffany (Vu) Le, Bonner Springs, KS, Jarrod (Amanda) Smith, Springfield, MO, Miranda (Danny) Stark, Kansas City, MO, Trevor (Alisha) Smith, Lee’s Summit, MO; and 9 great grandchildren, Christian, Cadence, Tyler, Grace, Aiden, Abriella, Allison, Autumn, and Dexton.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, at Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO.
