Turney, MO: James āJimā George Mezger, 79, of Turney, Missouri passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 1, 2023.
Jim was born on June 21, 1944 to parents, Fred and Margaret Mezger. He spent the early years of his life in Abilene, TX where his father was stationed during WW11. They soon after moved to Ridgeway, Missouri where he grew up and graduated form Ridgeway High School. After high school, he continued his education, receiving his bachelorās degree from the University of Missouri in 1967. He began a life long career as farmer and trucker, driving grain and feed trucks all across the Midwest. This career led him to Bethany, Missouri where met and married the love of his life, Sandra Mason, and from this marriage they were blessed with two children. Jim shared his hard work ethic and passion for farming and trucks with his children and was often fond studying those topics in his spare time. Through his love of learning he was a part of numerous forums and virtual communities, as well as the Turney Historical Society.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by his wife, Sandy; son, Doug (Marsha) Mezger of Carlisle, Iowa; daughter, Jennifer (Willis) Blinzler of Independence, Missouri; grandchildren, Elijah Mezger, Vincent Mexger, Riley Mezger and Lydia Blinzler; and countless extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Turney Methodist Church (N Ridge Street and State Highway H Turney , MO, 64493)on Thursday, July 6th, with a gathering of family and friends from 1pm-2pm, followed by a memorial service at 2pm.
