Ida Mae Sims, 90, Coffey, MO (formerly of Gilman City, MO) went to be with her Lord on October 27, 2015 at Daviess County Nursing Home and Rehab Facility, after a short stay, with her loving family around her.

Ida was born August 6, 1925 in Osceola, MO the daughter of Jesse Earl and Letha Francis (Collins) Clutter. At age 3 weeks the family moved to Brimson, MO and lived in several towns around the area. She graduated from Coffey High School in 1943. She met her husband Daniel Thomas Sims during those years and married him on August 10, 1943. She was a war bride with her husband leaving for active duty soon after the marriage. Her husband Daniel preceded her in death, November 8, 1989. Five children were born to this union. The oldest, Stanley Thomas preceded her in death in 1999. Surviving children are Daniel and wife Shelly, Gallatin; daughter, Karen Owens, Savannah; daughter, Sandra and husband Bruce Meek, Jamesport; and son, Randy and wife Tracy, Winston.

She spent most of her adult life around Coffey, raising her children, working at the Cap Factory in Pattonsburg and Gallatin. She lived for her family, sacrificing her wants for the wants of her children and grandchildren. She was generous and loving to all. Her greatest pleasure was helping someone out. She loved nothing better than to sit in her recliner and listen to the family tell her stories and tales of recent adventures they had been on. She was a true believer and a member of the Melbourne Baptist Church where she attended until she was unable to drive. For the past 6 years she had lived at The Village in Cameron, making friends wherever she went. If wealth is measured by love from her family she was a wealthy woman.

In addition to her husband, Daniel and son, Stanley, she is preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers; 1 sister and 1 son-in-law.

Other survivors include 10 grandchildren; 8 step-grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and one (yet to be born) great-great grandchild; 2 sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 31 at Coffey Baptist Church, Coffey, MO. Burial will follow in Coffey Cemetery, Coffey, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Coffey Cemetery in care of Roberson Funeral Home, PO Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424. Online condolences may be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com
