Gallatin, MO: Mary Etta Brown Weathers, 87, Gallatin, MO passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2023 at a Cameron, MO hospital.
Mary Etta was born on February 13, 1936 west of Pattonsburg, Missouri the daughter of Leo Steele and Lois Everly. She grew up in Coffey, Missouri and attended Coffey School where she loved to play volleyball and basketball.
Mary Etta married Duane Brown on January 6, 1951 and to this union a daughter, Debra Kay, was born.
She was a longtime resident in Pattonsburg, MO until the floods of 1993. She then moved to Gallatin, MO to be close to Debra and her family. She babysat for many years before going to work at the Pattonsburg Cap Factory where she worked for over 30 years after the passing of her husband, Duane, on September 18, 1987.
She later met and married Marvin Weathers on June 3, 2000. She enjoyed going to dances, loved to read and go camping. She spent many summers going to Branson and Table Rock Lake with her family. She loved watching the Chiefs and was able to see them win the Super Bowl.
Mary Etta loved her family dearly. She and Debra were not only mother and daughter, they were best friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Later in life, she was baptized and became a member of the Pattonsburg Baptist Church. She will be missed by all that loved her.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; second husband, Marvin and sister, Delores Steele.
Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Jack) Gannan of Gallatin, MO; grandsons, Kyle (Kristy) Gannan and Craig Gannan both of Gallatin, MO; great-grandson, Kirk Gannan; sister-in-law, Kathleen (Wilbur) Roloson of Gallatin, MO; nieces, Teri (Richard) Meek of Maysville, MO and Marcia (Keith) Doom of Yukon, OK and several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 at Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO. Burial will follow in the Pattonsburg Memorial Gardens, Pattonsburg, MO. The family will receive friends from 1:30 β 2:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where friends may call after 9:00 a.m. Friday.
