South Harrison boys take first at Stanberry meet

The South Harrison boys took first place at the Stanberry invitational track meet on Thursday, April 9.

Corby Clark won the 200-meter run, and the 4x100m relay team also came away with a first place finish. Team members are Bryce Kirk, Stanton Blake, Tyler Preston and Clark.

Others placing for the Bulldogs were:

Second place—Tyler Preston, 110m hurdles; Stanton Blake, 100m dash, Tanner Daugherty, 1600m run, and Chris Spence, 800m run.

Third place—Kasey McFall, shot put, and Corby Clark, 100m dash.

Fourth place—Bryce Kirk, long jump; 4x400m relay (J.D. Johnson, Angel Gomez, Derek McClure, Chris Spence); Keagan Madison, shot put.

Fifth place—Chris Spence, 400m run; Tyler Preston, 300m hurdles, and Tanner Daugherty, 3200m run.

Sixth place—Derek McClure, 1600m run; Stanton Blake, 200m run.

Bulldogs third at Excelsior Springs

The South Harrison boys took third place at the Brant Downey invitational track meet held on April 7 at Excelsior Springs.

The 4x100m relay team (Bryce Kirk, Stanton Blake, Tyler Preston, Corby Clark) took first place at the meet.

Others placing at the meet:

Second place—100m hurdles, Tyler Preston; 100m dash, Stanton Blake; 200m dash, Corby Clark.

Third—Chris Spence, 800m run; Kasey McFall, shot put

Fifth—Corby Clark, 100m dash and 400m run; Tyler Preston, 300m hurdles.

Sixth place—Tanner Daughterty, 3200m run, and Mason Doll, pole vault.

In girls’ competitions at Excelsior Springs, Kiana Bennett took first place in the pole vault with a jump of 8-6. The Lady Bulldogs finished 10th out of the 10 teams competing.

Other medalists were Keagan Madison, fourth in the shot put, and Bennett, fifth in the hurdles.
