Bethany, MO: Alva Edward “Ed” Criger, Jr., 73, Bethany, MO passed away Monday, November 29, 2021 at a North Kansas City, MO hospice facility.
He was born on February 14, 1948 in Bethany, Missouri the son of Alva E., Sr. and Elizabeth C. “Libby” (Ross) Criger.
On February 27, 1970, he married Marsha Hamilton in Bethany, MO. She survives of the home.
Ed was a graduate of South Harrison High School in 1968. He then attended body and fender school and worked for Barnes Auto. After that, he worked for the State Highway Department for 26 years then retired in 2002. He ran an archery shop until present day. Ed loved to go fishing and camping with his son, grandchildren and best friends. The highlights of his life were watching his grandchildren play ball and spending time with them fishing. He was so proud of his grandchildren. He also enjoyed deer and turkey season and loved archery and shooting his bow.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Roy C. Harris and an infant sister, Patsy.
In addition to his wife, Marsha, Ed is survived by his son, Curtis (Cori) Criger; grandchildren, Sam, Libby and Nathan Criger; sister, Bonnie (Everett) Galbraith; nephew, Richard (Melissa) Goucher; niece, Kim (Jack) Cochran; great nieces and nephews and best friends, Roy and Connie Riddle.
Ed has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO.
