Bethany, MO: Sandra Kay (Johnson) Alexander was born August 6, 1944 to Doris Mae (Pliley) and Garvin Deward Johnson. She departed this life September 13, 2021 at the age of 77 years, 1 month, and 7 days.

Sandra was a 1962 graduate of Gilman City High School. While attending school she lived with her aunt, Hazel Moulin.

On December 18, 1965 she married Billy Joseph Alexander. He preceded her in death on May 9, 1998. They were blessed with 3 kids: Delisa, Tanya, and Kyle. Sandra was a faithful member of Kirkley Chapel Church and could be seen on Sundays sitting in ā€œher spotā€. She was baptized at an early age and always knew where her eternal home would be.

Sandra worked as a CNA at Noll Memorial Hospital and Crestview while the kids were young, then later worked at Gumdrop Books. She served as a Paraprofessional at Ridgeway School and South Harrison. Her last work adventure was at the Trullinger Multi-Purpose Center, then she completely retired and just enjoyed life. Never one to stay home, she could be seen at softball games, baseball games, football games, basketball games, wrestling meets, and track meets. It really didnā€™t matter if she had a ā€œrelativeā€ playing or not! Her happy place was definitely Branson and she spent as much time there as possible. The latest trip was on her birthday with all three of her kids. She was truly happy that entire weekend. She never lost a child, but her heart broke when her kids had friends that passedā€¦ Jason Cox, Michael Premer, Erika Clark, Glen Barton, and Thad Irvin. She was a mom first, and it didnā€™t matter if she gave birth to you–if you needed discipline, she would dole it out. She is the reason everyone was given a middle name; and she used it!

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, Dan Thomas, brothers-in-law, Boyd Alexander and Moss Alexander; sisters-in-law, Isabel Stoner, Norma Alexander, and Delores Johnson.

Sandra is survived by her children, DeLisa Alexander and Tanya Thomas of Bethany, and Kyle (Robin) Alexander of Texas; her grandchildren, Danyel (Aaron) Fitzpatrick and Lincoln Thomas of Bethany, Mattison Thomas of Kansas City, Wyatt Thomas of Springfield, and Sarah Alexander of Texas; her favorites, the great-granddaughters, Harper and Kirkley Fitzpatrick; and her brother, Steve Johnson of Chillicothe; several nieces and nephews, and MANY ā€œadoptedā€ children and grandchildren–including Alisha (Thomas) Purdun, Jacci (Holman) Croy, Rusty Landes, Mallory (Crabtree) Miles, Justin Webb and numerous others.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 17 at Kirkley Chapel Church, Ridgeway, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Bethany, MO. Burial will follow in Miriam Cemetery, Bethany, MO. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to the Kirkley Chapel Church in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, MO 64424. Online condolences may be left at www.robersonfuneralhome.com
