Nancy Claire George, daughter of Fred and Ethelyn (Duff) Smith, was born on February 13, 1933 and passed away at the Fairfax Community Hospital, Fairfax Missouri, on June 20, 2021 at the age of 88 years.
Nancy graduated from Cainsville High School, Cainsville Mo., and had plans to go to college until she was notified of her father’s sudden death. She stayed home and she and her mother raised livestock.
Nancy married Richard (Dick) George on February 8, 1954 in Platte City, Mo. Nancy was a homemaker. She loved to cook and had beautiful flower gardens. She was an avid reader. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church in Cainsville, where she taught Sunday School and participated in many church activities. Nancy was also a member of Chapter BX of the PEO Sisterhood and Eastern Star order. After moving to the Tarkio, Missouri, she became a member of the Tarkio United Methodist Church.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, husband: Richard, cousins: Robert Duff, Tim Duff, Jim Boyd, aunt: Madeleine Boyd, uncle: Darrel Duff.
Survivors: cousins: Charles (Marilyn) Duff, Dennis (LaDonna) Duff, John (Patti) Duff, Mary (Larry) Meinecke.
Memorial graveside services and inurnment will be at 1:00 p.m. July 2, 2021 at Oaklawn Cemetery, Cainsville. Cremation was provided by Bethany Memorial Chapel. Tributes may be left at www.bethanymemorialchapel.com
