Joseph (Joey) Francis Flinn, III passed this week to the great saddness of all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Randy Gill, stepfather Fred Fossmeyer, and stepsisters LeAnne Fossmeyer, and Vicki Fielden. He was preceeded in death by his beloved mother Nancy Sarah Schultz (Flinn) Fossmeyer.
His beloved friends, the Rickey family, his sweet kitty Sunny, as well as his dear friend Cory Westphal will miss him deeply. He was a great brother, a loving son, and a wonderful friend. Joey was a lover of sports and an avid fisherman. His favorite pastime was fishing, especially with his friend Cory. He was a sports fanatic and enjoyed watching his hometown Padres and Chargers but learned to have a special place in his heart for his adopted Chiefs and Royals. Growing up, he was a very talented pitcher in his own right and played baseball until he was 20. He loved animals and they had quite the soft spot for him too.
He was born and raised in San Diego, CA and moved to Missouri about 15 years ago where he fell in love with the wildlife and fishing at many of the area lakes and ponds. His family is collecting any stories or remembrances you may have of Joey to share in the family scrapbook. Contact information below.
May the angels greet you and loved ones welcome you into open arms. There will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements will be made via a private zoom memorial service. Any wishing to attend, please contact Roxann Rickey at (660) 238-5683.
Any remembrances or memorials can be sent to Roberson funeral home in Bethany.
