Richard Elliott Hatten, 88, Arvada, Colo., formally of New Hampton, Mo., passed away on the January 29th, 2020 at Lutheran Hospice, Wheat Ridge, Colo. He was born November 1, 1931 in Mount Ayr, Iowa, son of David and Ora (Blanton) Hatten. His family moved to the New Hampton, Mo. community in 1936. He graduated from New Hampton High School in 1949.
On March 17, 1951, he married Peggy Fouts. They divorced in August 1977. He married Bonnie Bloom (Laughlin) on June 9, 1978.
Survivors in addition to his wife are sons, R. Mark
Hatten, Carrollton, Texas and Gregory L. Hatten Fremont, Calif., step
children he considered
as his own; Cynthia Richter (Larry) Castle Rock, Colo.; Richard Bloom (Karen)
Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Garry Bloom (Melinda), Atlanta, Ga. Brothers
Robert (Letha) Hatten, Cameron, Mo., and Kenneth (Lucille) Hatten, Drexel,
Mo.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sisters, Dorothy June Hatten, Georgia L. Miller and brother, Robert Hatten.
Funeral services were February 9th at Olinger Crown
