Bull riding, fireworks set for fairgrounds

Bethany’s Fourth of July festivities will shift to the fairgrounds on Saturday night when the Northwest Missouri State Fair hosts the Bethany Buck-Fest Bull Riding Challenge.
The long Independence Day weekend will start at 3 p.m. on Thursday with the Bill and Elizabeth Hogan Fourth of July parade on Oakland Street.
The fireworks show will be held on Saturday night following the Buck-Fest, featuring some of the area’s top bull riders.
The fairground gates open at 6 p.m. with bull riding at 7:30 p.m. A mutton bustin’ contest will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are on sale at all Farmers Bank locations and Gina’s Shear Heaven in Bethany.
