Counties may have to yield control over hog operations

County health ordinances regulating confined animal feeding operations, or CAFOs, suffered what may have been a fatal blow in the closing hours of the Missouri General Assembly in late May.
Governor Mike Parson signed Senate Bill 391 into law on May 31 taking the power from counties to regulate CAFOs when those regulations are more stringent that state laws.
